Root Canal Aftercare Instructions

We hope you are feeling well following your visit with us today! To ensure proper healing, we do have a few recommended aftercare instructions we’d like to recommend.

It's normal to experience some discomfort for several days following a root canal appointment, especially when chewing. To control discomfort, take pain medication as recommended. If discomfort persists after 48 hours, fill the Decadron prescription that was sent home with you.

If you were prescribed antibiotics, please continue to take them as prescribed, even if all symptoms and signs of infection are gone.

Usually, the last step after root canal treatment is the placement of a crown on the tooth. A crown covers and protects the tooth from breaking in the future. If your bite feels uneven, if you have persistent swelling or pain, or if you have any other questions or concerns, please call our office at (509) 468-4040.
